After frequenting this particular McDonald's location for decades, the past half a dozen times or so have been extremely disappointing. To the point that it has "turned me off" McDonald's all together. To be specific, it is the quality of service during the evening shift that has me switching to another "fast food" brand. Having worked in the service industry myself for a couple of decades now, I'm usually pretty tolerant when it comes to sevice. I know that everyone has a bad shift from time to time. It seems that every evening shift is a "bad shift" at 400 Sir-Wilfred-Laurier Blvd, St. Lambert, Quebec. Let me tell you about my most recent experiences. When approaching the counter to place my order, there have been at least a couple of occasions when I have stood and waited for a couple of minutes while the teen-ager behind the counter finished a conversation with his/her teen-aged friends lingering in the seating area, before even aknowledging me. The order that I place is simple, 3 trios with 2 regular Cokes & 1 Diet Coke. Sometimes accompanied by 3 coffees. I have had more than a few occasions when the employee preparing my order didn't identify which of the three was the Diet Coke. Because I am diabetic, regular Coke can be detrimental to my health. When asked which was the Diet Coke, one girl shrugged her shoulders and while staring blankly at me said simply "I don't know". Another time, the employee removed the lids and visually examined the sodas, and then attempted to sniff-out the Diet Coke. I'm not joking. The kid accually put his nose to the cups and took a sniff of all 3. I couldn't believe it! In the past 6 to 10 visits, I can guarranty you that I have had to correct that simple order mentioned above every time. I have witnessed, out-of-uniform kids (employees) cooking food with a cigarette behind his ear. I have also witnessed on a number of occassions, more than 1 employee talking on his/her cell phone while preparing orders. My last visit, was exactly that. "MY LAST VISIT!" After placing my simple order of 3 trios, the kid that took my order, answered his cell phone and preceeded to have a conversation while attempting to put my order together, only to interupt his conversation to ask me particulars about my order. The manager then came over to help complete the order...or so I thought. Before leaving, I opened the bag to check my order, only to find that there were 2 fries missing from the 3 trios. That was it! I decided to make a complaint to that very manager (she couldn't have been more than 17 years old - I believe her name was Noemi) . I told her how disappointed I was with the quality of service that I have received on the past several occassions. Her immediate, abrupt, arrogant response was "So, why do you keep coming back?! We are not the only McDonald's, you know?! If you're not happy with this one, why don't you find another one?!" When I told her that I wouldn't be back, and that I was sure that her superior would be interested to hear how their employees conduct themselves on the job, her response was "I don't care!" Further to that, I later called the location to make a formal complaint. I was told not to bother, "because it won't be taken seriously". Well, that was it for me! I'll never buy another thing from McDonald's! Not after that kind of treatment!
